Woodhouse is less than 2 hours drive from Worcester and the M5, the M50 at Ross on Wye, and the M4 at Newport, making it easily accessible. From the clock tower in the centre of Rhayader take the A44/A470 towards Llangurig for about 100 metres. On the right is Rhayader Leisure Centre, and a turning signed to St. Harmon, B4518. Take this road, for about 5 miles, passing through the village of St. Harmon, and on to the village of Pant-Y-Dwr. At the Mid Wales Inn turn right, signed Bwylch-Y-Sarnau. After almost a mile you will come to a turning on the right, just before a garage. Take this turn. Proceed for nearly half a mile and Woodhouse is on the right, as indicated by the finger post.

Woodhouse can also be approached from Llanidloes. This route is narrow in places with several steep inclines and whilst very scenic is not recommended for caravans or larger vehicles. Take the B4518 signposted to Twylch and Pant Y Dwr. On arriving in Pant Y Dwr you will then need to turn left by the Mid Wales Inn.

Please follow these directions in preference to satalite navigation, which has taken several of our guests to a nearby farm instead.

By Public Transport

The nearest train and bus stations are at Llandrindod Wells, and Newtown. Llandrindod is on the ‘Heart of Wales’ railway line, about one hour from Shrewsbury and three from Swansea. There are currently four trains a day on this route. Newtown is on the Birmingham, Shrewsbury Aberystwyth line, with a slightly better service. There is a National Express coach service to and from Llanidloes, on the Birmingham - Aberystwyth route once a day.There is also a regular bus service (Sargeants) between Hereford and Llandrindod. From Llandrindod there is a regular bus service to Rhayader and a limited service from there to St. Harmon and Pant Y Dwr. We can usually collect individuals and small groups from Llandrindod, Llanidloes or Newtown.

Woodhouse is located at Ordnance survey grid reference SN998750 and is conveniently located for both the Wye Valley Walk and Glyndwrs Way.
